Counting on our friendship with Werner Boote, we have the pleasure of seeing him sitting on a film jury and conducting a masterclass for film enthusiasts

A multitalented director, during his training and career he has worked in the theater arts, sociology, music, fiction and documentary filmmaking, which has garnered him international recognition through hisinvestigation into controversial environmental issues.

The development of a personal style: selection of topics and interviewees, use of irony in documentary filmmaking; standing at the helm of film production
Strategies for documentary filmmaking: how to approach the protagonists, how to train the research team, how to prepare sensitive film takes, how to solve legal issues and unexpected problems

Werner Boote studied at the University of Vienna, then worked as assistant director and filmmaker for TV and cinema on musical videos and documentaries. An ally in environmental causes, he directed the award-winning feature documentary Plastic Planet (2009), followed by Population Boom (2014), and The Green Lie (2018), which received the Green Me Award as best documentary and the Ambiente e Società special mention at the 21st CinemAmbiente.
