SALA 3
16:00 P.M.

The aim of the Cinesintesi Memories of Tomorrow’s Forest project was to create three short videos about environmental sustainability and protection of the natural heritage in the Rochetta Tanero Natural Park, the first protected area in the province of Asti listed in the European Natura 2000 network and managed by the Ente Parco Paleontologico Astigiano.

The videos were made by students from the Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore Natta, Rivoli, with the creative use of footage about nature from the Superottimist archives combined with films taken by the students in the park. The three videos make up an illustrated story of the Park’s past, present, and future. They deal with environmental issues of the present and the future, as seen by young people. In addition, the films describe a natural protected area as seen in the home movies kept in the Superottimisti archives. The use of archival footage enriched the combination of cinematographic language, home movies, and video techniques for reflecting on environmental change over the past century.

The screening will be introduced by Giulia Carbonero and Giulio Pedretti of Superottimisti and the school director of the “Natta” Institute of Rivoli Giovanni Coppola; this will be followed by speeches by Carmela Caiazzo of the Association of the Institute for Earth Education – Italian Branch, the Director of the Asti Paleontological Park Graziano Delmastro, and finally by the students and teachers who made the short films.

At the conclusion, La Casa del dolce e del salato of Rocchetta Tanaro will offer the audience refreshments with typical local products.

Memorie del Bosco – il passato da scoprire
A sensorial and immersive journey to discover the Bosco del Parco, as told through the eyes of a mysterious animal on its trails through the forest. Images, sound, and sensations from the memory of the forest reveal its transformation over millions of years.

Voci Nel Bosco
The often ignored stories that nature tells. The Voices are those of humans, animals, plants, and natural elements that whisper to anyone willing to listen. The forest harbors myriad hidden meanings.

Parole Sospese
In a post-apocalyptic scenario, a man gasping for oxygen returns to his diary to record the deepest emotions he experienced with nature. The entries depict humanity destroyed and how each individual contributed to its destruction.

The project is led by the Natta Institute of Higher Education in Rivoli, coordinated by the Superoptimists Archive. Official project partners: Institute for Earth Education – Italian Branch; Ente Parco Paleontologico Astigiano; University of Milan Bicocca – Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences; RI-PRESE memory keepers; Piedmont Region – Archives Sector; Filmine and Valovideo. Initiative carried out as part of the National Cinema Plan
and Images for Schools promoted by MIC and MIM.
