Organized by the Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, this is the first in a series of events on the past 20 years of research into alpine biodiversity. The series covers the history of alpine studies, landscape art, a virtual museum of ecosystems as a knowledge tool, and recordings of the sounds of biodiversity recorded in primordial forests around the world.<\/p>\n

The series was created by the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi, the Aree protette delle Alpi Cozie, Elisabetta Mitrovic, Antonello Provenzale, and David Monacchi.<\/p>\n

The village set up by regional natural parks administrations in the streets around the Cinema Massimo will host environmental education activities, games, entertainment, and information kiosks. The administration of the regional parks (Alpi Cozie, Po piemontese, Alpi Marittime, Ticino e Lago Maggiore, Parchi Reali, Parco paleontologico astigiano, Parco del Monviso, Parco fluviale Gesso e Stura, the two national parks Gran Paradiso and Val Grande, and the city of Turin will also host visitor information stands.<\/p>\n

Skeletal models and fossils (real and fake) of mollusks and cetaceans recreate a journey back in time to learn about the history of the earth millions of years ago.<\/p>\n

Climate change and its impact on local fauna. An info-educational workshop on the environment and nature that will raise awareness about personal actions and monitoring of habitat change by park administrations.<\/p>\n

Potam\u00f2i is a board game; its name is derived from the Greek word for \u201criver\u201d. Participants from age 10 to 99 take part in this cosplay, acting as guardians of biodiversity and collaborating to save water\u2014the earth\u2019s most precious resource.<\/p>\n

Hikers may be caught in unexpected situations in the mountains. Do you know what to do in the event of a sudden storm or an encounter with an animal herd and their watchdogs? Or if you discover a tick attached to your body or the sole on your hiking boots falls off? Make the right decision at the right time to mitigate risking harm to yourself and the environment. The game will test your ability to react correctly when the unexpected occurs on a hike.<\/p>\n
