This masterclass with Asif Kapadia takes a closer look at his films. Together with movie critic Carlo Griseri, the filmmaker talks about how he researches and writes his films and edits the story using a novel approach to documentarist narration. Like mosaics or pop art documentaries, his films are constructed with archive footage reworked into a new context in a variety of styles, yet linear and simple, with a creative spirit that breaks rules in the exploration of different genres. Thus, 2073<\/em>, his latest film, which will be screened in the Festival\u2019s special events section, marks a milestone in his career, both a technical challenge and a courageous leap into a dystopic future to depict current alienation.<\/p>\n
