In response to the need to develop new synergies in scientific communication, the project steps up to the challenge of an increasingly connected society where access to information is rapid but not always verifiable or comprehensible. In this context, scientific research is called upon to leave academia behind and come into the public spotlight with tools that make complex content accessible without oversimplification. Taking an example from the University of Zurich’s Science Filmmaking Marathon, FI(na)LMENTE explores cinematographic language in a dynamic, direct, and exciting format.

For FI(na)LMENTE ver 2.0 CinemAmbiente, the Doctorate School, University of Turin, and the InTo Brain Association renew their joint collaboration, while taking on board the Scuola di Studi Superiori Ferdinando Rossi, University of Turin (SSST). The project opens new perspectives by involving twelve graduate students from twelve disciplines, plus eight SST students. During the 4-day workshop, the participants will be guided by filmmakers from Zenit Arti Audiovisive in visual storytelling and filmmaking. The aim is to transform their respective research areas into short science films that are accessible, creative, and engaging. The videos will treat four complex environmental issues: glacial retreat, nuclear power plants, the role of bees in ecosystems, and the chemistry of popular herbal infusions.

Nuclear Memories
Angelo and Antonio spent their working lives at the Caorso nuclear power plant.
