Asja.Energy Award

for the best documentary of the international section.

Best Documentary
A difficult topic made easy to understand: carbon tells its own story, guiding the viewer in exploring a basic element of life which today may also cause life’s end. Science, poetry, and creativity conveyed in various narrative languages, plus a dose of humor, to make the invisible visible.
Jury Special Mention
The stubborn determination of a scientist who - alone with his son - attempts to reproduce Pleistocene conditions in a remote part of Siberia to counter the thawing of the permafrost. What seems like visionary madness ends up winning the viewer over as something possible and indeed necessary for the common interest in the face of the dramatic effects of climate change.

Terna Award

for the best short film of the international section.

Best Short Film
We appreciated the ability of the narrative to destablise the viewer’s gaze, letting images rather than words tell the events. There’s wonder, poetry, and politics. An opening onto an animal world that makes us take account of the catastrophic effects of climate change. Research and experimentation coupled with an amazring technical rendering.
Jury Special Mention

IREN Audience Award

awarded by the spectators of the Festival to the best documentary competing in the international competition.

Best documentary chosen by the public

Ambiente e Società Award

The Cooperativa Sociale Arcobaleno awards the Premio Ambiente e Società for the film that best treats environmental and social issues. The jury is composed of cooperative member-workers who year by year learn the language of cinema and thus enrich their personal career through the opportunity that CinemAmbiente provides.

The Salotto Arcobaleno opposite the entrance to Cinema Massimo is a space for casual encounters and draws inspiration from the rainbow colors in the cooperative’s logo and the peace flag. The award and the salottobring together solidarity, justice, and the search for social and environmental equity.

To a film that combines environmental and social topics.
An expository documentary that takes a long journey from Sardinia to Veneto to Great Britain and makes a strong statement about an economy based on the ever faster production of consumer goods which places economic interests before the well-being of the community and the environment. A disturbing documentary that aims to raise awareness and collective activism for protecting health and the environment against irreparable damage. It is time to change course. Basically, we all consist of chemicals – natural chemicals.
